We are regularly asked questions by clients and prospective clients about the services we provide.

Often they cover similar topics, and so some of these have been collected together here to provide information you may find helpful. If there’s something you would like to know then hopefully the answer is to hand, but if it not please drop us an email and we will be glad to help.

What we do

We offer a wide range of commercial cleaning services  – including schools, offices, shops and other public spaces. Usually this is through a cleaning contract, but we also carry out some additional cleaning – such as periodic deep cleans.
We carry out all aspects of commercial cleaning for sites ranging from schools to offices and factories. These may include vacuuming, dusting, floor scrubbing, washroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning and so on. Whatever is required to keep your premises looking fantastic will be built into our cleaning schedules.
We supply professional quality cleaning materials for all contracts. We are happy to discuss the supply of equipment and consumables as you require also.
Usually we prefer to work to a contract so that we can commit the right resources for your site, and ensure that we are set up to deliver the quality we demand. However, if you have a one-off requirement please contact us and we will be happy to see if we can help you.
Kent Gurkha provide cleaning services in Kent, and in to South-East London. Most of our contracts are in the major towns of the county, including Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Ashford, Folkestone, Sevenoaks, Canterbury and Medway.
As a specialist commercial cleaning service we only take on work where we can deliver to our exceptional standards, which means that we don’t carry out domestic work.

As an ISO9001 quality assured company, we ensure that all work is monitored and audited. Our supervisors inspect the work areas, and the management teams carry out planned audits together with random spot-checks.
We take health and safety very seriously. We have an ISO18001 accredited safety management system to ensure that we are always planning safe working and managing our contracts safely. Each employee receives health and safety training, as well as regular management safety briefings.
In order to provide the best possible service we will usually supply all the professional quality tools, equipment and products needed to deliver a perfect clean. However, our flexibility allows us to tailor our offer to your needs, meaning that if you wish to supply products yourself, we will be happy to accommodate you.
Kent Gurkha are members of BICSc, the leading independent cleaning standards body. Our cleaners perform to their standards to ensure that we deliver to a consistently high level for every client.

No. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome staff from a broad variety of backgrounds. Whether recruiting new staff or inheriting teams under TUPE, we welcome a wide and diverse mix of people to the Kent Gurkha family.

Safety and security

Each new employee undergoes a number of checks to verify their identity and right to work legally within the UK. Where applicable, they also undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. You can learn more about our security vetting procedures here.
Each contract and employee is viewed, and a decision taken as to whether a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is needed. Our safeguarding procedures ensure that the appropriate vetting is given to each new starter. Every employee carrying out cleaning for schools will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
In many cases we favour a keyholding role, meaning we will take responsibility for locking up your site, setting alarms etc. This gives us maximum flexibility, usually leading to lower costs to you. We have successfully managed numerous contracts in this way, using fully vetted staff who are trained in your security measures and the steps to take.
Yes. We provide all staff with a smart, practical uniform. This enhances security for our clients’ sites and also portrays a visible, professional image for us and your location.
